Order a Bicycle

Ordering a frame
In most cases we will have talked at least once about your specific needs and the type of frame you are interested in. Please keep in mind that you are ordering something that will be custom made just for you. To begin with, please complete the order form and body measurement chart. When filling out prices, be sure to consult the “standard” braze-on list. Most are included for each frame type. You need not have every decision made before ordering, but you should have some idea of the total cost involved. We can go over any details that will affect the price at a later time. I will send you an order confirmation after all of the details including sizing are finalized. I ask that you review it carefully and notify me of any problems or questions. I will expect a signed copy giving me your authorization to proceed within 10 days.

Sizing I will review the measurements you have submitted and your current bike measurements if provided. If you are certain of the size you want, save time and just tell me. I have been fitting people to bikes for many years and I will no doubt have many questions for you. Some of the considerations I take into account other than just measurements are age, weight, overall flexibility, your experience and approximate yearly mileage. I am interested in building bikes that will be used and loved for many years and your comfort is my first concern. Our bodies, abilities and adaptability change as we age and most people find it difficult to be comfortable at age 45 on a bike that was “just perfect” when they were 25. Working together we will arrive at an optimal frame size for your needs.

Color All frames are finished with DuPont Imron polyurethane enamel paint. You may decide on a color or colors by viewing a paint chart at your local DuPont Automotive paint dealer or I can send you a chart which you will need to return. Base price is for one color. Two-tone schemes with a masked head tube and seat tube panel are additional.

Payment All orders must be accompanied by a 30% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. Personal checks are accepted. I can accept credit cards through Pay Pal only. Upon completion of your frame you will be notified and the balance must be paid at that time by certified check. Your frame will be carefully packed and shipped upon receipt of your final payment.

All frames include the following standard braze-ons. Shifter bosses on down tube (best choice), or cable stops, slotted stainless cable stops on top tube, stainless steel guides under bottom bracket, 2 sets of stainless steel bottle mounts, stainless steel cable stop on chainstay, stainless steel Columbine Quikchainger and a stainless steel pump button on head tube. Touring, cross and mountain frames also have cantilever brake mounts, cable stop on the seat stays, threaded stainless steel fender mounts at bridges, & rack mounts on seat stays.  All stainless steel parts are highly polished and masked prior to painting.
